# Product in the Agentic Age

*Introducing Scott Belsky as USV’s first-ever Product Advisory Partner*

In 2012, USV led a Series A investment in Behance. Almost immediately after we invested, Behance’s co-founder and CEO, Scott Belsky, became a fixture within the USV community. Scott became an LP in our funds, frequently angel invested alongside us, and most importantly, served as an unofficial mentor to many of USV’s portfolio companies. For nearly 15 years, it has felt like Scott has been a part of the USV family, alongside his full-time roles at Behance, Adobe, and now A24 and as an active angel investor.

But now, he’s officially part of the family in a new advisory role of Product Partner. Scott will do all of the things he has always done uniquely so well for USV portfolio companies at their earliest stage: product, positioning, and generally helping them craft amazing experiences. And we’ll be adding additional friends of USV as advisory partners soon.

The world has changed, and Scott has been thinking a lot about what product principles change and what stays the same in the agentic era. AI has made it possible for more people to build products, faster than ever before. And yet, the ubiquity of intelligence and uncertainty around moats and consumer preferences makes building an amazing resilient product more challenging than ever.

Similarly, at USV, AI has pushed us to think more deeply about our own way of working, and to embrace a builders’ mindset across nearly everything we do. Earlier this year, [we created our own agent teammates](https://x.com/usv/status/2036903978555105451) and custom software to fit how we work. And we’ve added human builders to the team, as well, such as Jared Hecht and Michael Mignano.

Scott is an obvious inaugural Advisory Partner. He’s long been a person we call when we’re evaluating a startup, tapping into his well-known product ingenuity to help us make smarter decisions. Across companies that Scott has supported from the early stages, like Uber, Pinterest, and Periscope and more recently Ramp, BaseTen, ComfyUI, Clay, and Instinct among others, product founders talk about Scott’s contributions on product and design as well as narrative and strategy. And when a USV portfolio company is navigating a challenge we believe Scott is uniquely positioned to solve, we never hesitate to connect founders with him.

In many ways, Scott’s new role as Product Advisory Partner is not a new role at all. It’s a recognition of something that’s been happening for years. And as we spend more time each week discussing products among our partnership and with founders, we couldn’t be more excited to add him to those conversations.
